TEMPERED GLASS PORTE COCHERE STRUCTURAL DESIGN
Taking into account the large size of the area to be covered, the structural design contemplates the use of non-prismatic sections (variable section) in box steel elements in order to meet the criteria of visibility of the structure with the lowest possible self-weight.
A local stability check(local buckling load) was made in the finite element model (fem) among other verifications relevant to the type of structure. The back side of the porta cochere is supported by the main structure.
Programs used: Sap 2000 - Line elements and shell elements for local buckling verification.
